Voice Pathologist & Swallowing Specialist

Natalie Sheppard, B.M., M.A., CF-SLP, is a clinical fellow specializing in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders at the Blaine Block Institute of Voice Analysis and Rehabilitation (BBIVAR) and the Professional Voice Center of Greater Cincinnati (ProVoice Center). She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music and most recently her Master of Arts from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Her clinical interests include voice disorders, professional and singing voice, gender-affirming voice care, and head and neck cancer. 


During her time at the University of Colorado, she piloted the first collaboration between the voice clinic and the music school, providing presentations and baseline laryngeal videostroboscopy to university singers. She also served on the board for the Colorado Speech Hearing Association as a student liaison.


Natalie’s research interests include mapping meta-therapeutic principles to gain patient buy-in, trauma and the voice, and how the psychology of personality affects the outcomes of voice therapy and behavioral change. She plans to publish and present at the local and national level. In addition to her clinical and research endeavors, she continues to perform professionally.
