Acoustic and Aerodynamic Assessment

To evaluate efficiency of voice and airflow

Laryngeal Function Studies

Laryngeal Function Studies include Acoustic and Aerodynamic Assessment of Voice. These measures are obtained through the use of specialized equipment and programs to evaluate the efficiency of voice and airflow. Laryngeal Function Studies are performed by Voice Pathologists who are specially trained to collect this objective data. This information, combined with the eye and ear of the highly skilled clinician, provides a thorough and efficient means for evaluating voice disorders both before and after treatment. This information aids in decisions regarding appropriate medical, surgical, or rehabilitative treatments. There is no preparation for this evaluation, which will include reading aloud and performing simple breathing tasks.
